Just looking at Janey's pic of the bluetit reminded me...I was wondering...does it help if you site the box on a particular aspect?

Ah yes, thanks Megan. I wonder if the ivy and close trees are the secret of your success more than the south facing aspect.......My walls are pretty bare, although I do have a young wisteria and on a south west facing wall, so that might be the spot!

Thanks Megan! How do you feel about orange roses? David Austen has some crackers! My favourites so far are Summer song (not really orange, verges on red), Lady Emma Hamilton, Pat Austin and Lady of Shallott....

I'll take a look later, still not into orange though ! Are you feeling better now ?

Thanks Megan! I am a lot better, just a horrible cough now. Walked the dog 8 miles today, so I can't complain!

I can only say that we've had them nesting in a box on a South facing trellised fence, Ivy grows there and there are trees very close by. They've come into our garden for past 3 years. Think the box may be on one of my garden photos if that helps.
