getting rid of ivy
By Coogan

after my garden was neglected ( due to a dislocated shoulder) the wild ivy that grows over the stone wall has made it into the garden. It has crept through a large herbaceous bed, under the weed suppressing blanket, everywhere! What is the best way to get rid of it with the least damage to the other plants

I pull it out strand by strand. This is time consuming but doesn't hurt my other plants. I dont know of any other way of dealing with it, I'm afraid. At least it pulls out quite easily, even if the strand breaks, you can trace where it is and start from there. Now I am almost rid of it, I watch for the tiny plants and pull them out before they send out shoots!
