I am setting up a veggie patch which has a yew tree near by and partly over hanging it. I know the leaves and berries are poisonous. Am I safe to grow vegetables here so long as I scrub them thoroughly before eating as berries and leaves will fall in the area. Thanks. Lou Carter

The yew tree is toxic to us but the leaves and berries falling on the veggie garden will not have any effect on the plants. You will need to keep pulling up the yew seedlings though.
