I want to uproot my malus plant which has grown too big and would like to move it to another part of my garden. Is this the right time of year to do so.Many thanks Angie.

the more roots and soil you keep round it the better.i would get some friends in and something to rap round the root ball if its big.also prepare the new hole bigger the better.then add some decent soil and feed to put round the edge.water lots and lots and keep your fingers crossed.

Malus is a tree - if its been in situ longer than 18 months to 2 years, it will be very difficult to move and keep roots intact. But if you wanted to, you could do it now, though best time's really autumn/early winter.
