general garden feed..
been out in the garden the last few days tidying up etc, pruned clematis, hydrangea, sambucas amongst others and getting the garden in shape for summer and was wondering what fellow GOYers feed to their plants at the start of the season?
apart from individual needs of your plants is there a general feed or something that covers most things to give the garden a boost?

I use blood, fish and bone scattered round each shrub/plant, and then I rake it in a bit.

I use Growmore - I like fish blood and bone, but I find it attracts too much attention from cats, foxes and dogs if near the surface of the soil - but then I live in London!

I am using Hoof & Horn, superphosphate and sulphate of potash and carbonate of lime, for plants which grow on alkaline soil. Hoof & Horn, super phosphate and potash on acid loving plants.

I have blood, fish and bone which I was going to use again but maybe thats why cats are fond of my garden. think i,ll try the growmore.
I got a bag of stuff from work last year, cant remember what it is but it listed things like superphosphate and potash etc, but don't want to try that as i,m not a 100% sure what I got it for originally.

I bought some plant food (Flower Power) from a well known shopping channel. (Not sure what the policy is on advertising) It's brilliant for all types of flowers and foliage, and supposedly helps to produce larger tastier fruit. It has a high potash content and it certainly works for me! (Not me personally of course, my garden...lol)

Definitely not a good idea to eat it, Dylandog! LOL.

Oh - and welcome to GOY, by the way! :-))
