Hi there everyone.
My question today is not really about the garden but..... I am hoping that one of you out there will be able to help me!!!!!! here goes then - As you've seen in my photos I have a naturalised garden pond in my back garden, with about 60 goldfish in it. We decided at the weekend that the weather was now warm enough to start feeding them again. A short while after doing this, one of the biggest ( and possibly oldest) fish started swimming on its side. We have removed it to a new home on its own for the moment, but it does not seem to be improving. It lays on its side near the bottom of the pond for quite some time and then swims upwards very fast in a zigzag movement.
It has been suggested that there could be a problem with its swimbladder, if this is the case, what do I do to make it well again. If not, does anyone know what might be wrong with it?

Sorry Ann - no idea you might want to ask someone who breeds goldfish.

I sometimes lose fish from my pond, but if you have 60 I don't think you'll miss it. I once tried putting 'medicine' chemicals in the pond, as sold at the water garden centre, but this just made others die too! Keep an eye on it and get it out if it dies.

Try fishdoc.co.uk - it has a long list of symptoms and the causes of fishy illnesses. Good luck
