I have a Coronilla - valentina glauca Citrina - died in last month, what would have caused it, as the other one is doing really well. Could I plant another bush in that soil?

Was it well established? I expect that the winter weather has seen it off. You could take greenwood cuttings in the early summer or half-ripe ones later to replace the dead one. I don't think there will be a problem replanting in the same place, but improve the soil first.
