I THINK it might be 'Rhaphiolepsis umbellata'. Check it out, Harli.

Spritzhenry ~ Way to go, that looks just like them, and I looked at lots of pictures. I had sent pictures to the university nearby and I have a feeling that is what they will say as well.

You are very welcome, Harli. You know that I have a very big garden - well I have one of these tucked away, only it has pink flowers and no red leaves - but the shape just reminded me of mine so I looked it up. I am so glad I could be right!
