Small green leaves have appeared in my grass, one stem with two leaves opposite each other, they are bright green in colour. The leaves are about 2cm in length, does anyone have any ideas?

sounds like sycamore. There seems to be so many more this year than in previous ones. My garden is covered in them.

Sycamore! Is there a sycamore tree nearby? If not, a tree of some sort that has seeds that drift around. Mowing the lawn will kill them off.
