Welcome!
I don't know much of your climate, but judging from its location on the map, you will probably have almost as much trouble with it as I do, here in the subtropical desert. Rhubarb is pretty hardwired to grow only in the summer, it needs at least some sun, and it needs cool temperatures. Here, I have occasionally planted cherry rhubarb in the fall, let it grow roots over the winter, and hoped for a few stalks in the spring, before the heat killed it!. Since you are right on the coast, you might have it a little easier, depending on how cool your sea-breezes are. Wylieintheazores may have more useful info than I do, since he lives much closer!
