compacted garden how do improve drainage on heavy clay area

Answers

You need to dig in lots and lots of organic material - home-made compost is best, as well as well-rotted manure, mushroom compost etc. Also dig in horticultural grit. It's hard work - but it will be worth it.

Every time you plant anything, make the hole bigger than normal, and back-fill with compost, too.
