Im a keen but very novice gardener!! One side of my garden is in shade for most of the day. I want to put in a flower bed but wondered what people would recommend to put in it? I was thinking in terms of winter/ spring/ summer interest, height and colour. I would appreciate any advice!!! Many thanks!!!

Hello Jules, there are quite a few plants that will tolerate shade, try googling 'plants for shade' also think about something to look at in winter, the stems of Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire' will give height and colour all winter, there's a lime green stemmed one too. Spring bulbs will be fine too. Foxgloves and Geraniums (not pelargoniums) will love it in late spring. For summer Hydrangeas will like some shade too.
