My friend has a 'red robin' shrub(?) and the leaves are going brown. Please can you tell me what the problem might be. Thank you.

Very dry here too Bamboo - i'm watering the garden lately :-((
Aswell as drought, the plant/leaves could have been windburnt and the combination of the two factors will see it off !

Drought? Assuming you mean they're dead and crispy - it's very dry here in London.
