Yellow cucmber

I am pickling cucmbers and some turned yellow, is this ok, i just cut it off the plant thinking it was needing to be cut. can this still be eating. should i cut the rest earlier? Thanks for you help.

Try cutting it through and tasting it. If it passes the taste test, then I should think it's Ok. You can get yellow varieties of courgettes (zuchinis (spelling?)), but I'm not sure about cucumbers. Maybe it has gone 'overripe'? I pick my cucumbers as soon as the skin becomes taught (they start out wrinkly). They need loads of water - remember that a cucumber is mostly water. Hope this helps :-)
