plant in fertile moist but well draining soil partial shade, i have two i planted last year and back again, easy to grow, need quite a bit of room as they can be invasive, but easy to split each year if they get to much,

plant them so the soil level is level with the compost around the plant. They will also be happy in full sun bt not deep shade.
