Winter aconites coming up now!
I know we had a cold winter but you wouldn't expect this! I thought the pips I put in last September had come to nothing but now I've got winter aconites coming up all over the place. Just the leaves of course. Is this not all that unusual in their first year?

where will they grow? I have clay soil, but manure on top. »
I think the very early cold kept the pips dry as the water was frozen in the soil. now we have had some warmer weather the water has been available to swell the pips. and now you have the growth. flowers next year fingers crossed.
