l have just bought a Gaultheria procumbens shrub....can anyone give any advice as to what it would grow like in a gravel garden please

Answers

Gaultheria need an neutral to acidic soil with plenty of humus and semi shade. So if you are growing in a gravel garden you will need to dig a hole much larger than the root ball and fill with something like ericaceous compost and mulch on the top. Watch out the slugs love eating the berries!
