what can I plant in front of a huge mound of tree branches which my neighbour is piling up month after month. The pile is some 20' high, but I don't want to cover it with a russian vine as it isn't my heap pf rubbish. It will be under the shade of a large beech tree.....but I have room to plant a quick growing tree

Unfortunately, Beech is renowned for not tolerating anything much growing near it - it's a very hungry feeder, steals all the water and nutrients for itself. That said, this might be a job for, dare I say it, Leylandii cypress - but it will get very, very large indeed if you don't keep it pruned every two years.

Hi Gregory and welcome to GoY - why is your neighbour piling up the tree branches like this and does he plan to simply leave them there? If this huge pile is near your home I'd have a quiet chat with him.

I was thinking fire hazard and as MG says what does he plan to do with it. I would have a quiet chat and he may not reaise the problem he is causing you.
