i grew some potatoes inside some old tires, i only have a small garden so it came in i would say very useful, but as i only dug up about enough for two maels i wasn't sure it was worth it. however you can keep on layering them as the plant grows so that your crop yields more profitably shall we say.

« what type of water lilly do I need for a pond 17ft x 2 ft deep
I have used old wicker baskets till they rot, I love my Belfast sink. my old plastic baby bath made a good sunken pond till I got the real thing. My mother used an old brown leather Gladstone bag on her front door step every summer for red bedding plants. I used my old earthern wear pot with clear plastic cover from my 1980's large slow cooker as a propigator till I dropped it. This will be a fun blog I suspect when the others join in?
