I bought and planted a climbing rose from a reputable garden centre last October. It started to spring up really healthily at the beginning of Spring. They stems have now turned rather black and the leaves are withering. Can you offer an explanation of what this is and what I can do? Many thanks.

I don't know the answer but suggest you take a sample back to the garden centre where you bought it. Many or them give a year or more guarantee on their plants if you have proof of purchase. At the least they can advise you.
