What is multipurpose compost made from? How is it comprised? What is its source?

Does this mean multipurpose compost is acidic? I'd assume it is 100% humus, jolly good for the garden. It would be good to find peat free alternatives, if there are.

Mostly peat, I'm afraid, unless it says 'peat-free'. Try looking on the manufacturers website for info.
