Today I bought 2 climbing roses (a yellow and a purple one) for a pound each at my local poundland and both had white furry mould growing on one of the dead stems. I cut off the affected parts and dipsosed of them. What should I do if this reoccurs, and will it reoccur?
They were ones that are in topless boxes, ready for sale, so does that mean that due to lack of drainage and being sprayed from the top that they grew mould.

It'll just be because they've been in that packaging since last autumn, kept in poor environments. Plant them up, keep an eye on them, spray with a fungicide if you have any more problems, but as it was only on the dead wood, I should think they'll be fine. At least they were only a quid each!
