Hi, welcome to GoY, sow the seed of catmint, { nepeta} in autumn, put them in a cold frame, either in pots, trays, or a seed bed, you can divide them in spring or autumn, or you can take softwood cuttings in early summer, a lot of catmints self seed, but not all, Derek.

sow the seed onto the surface of a seed or multipurpose compost. Cover lightly with compost and keep slightly moist and in a warm 15-18 degree c environment. when germinated you can reduce the heat and when big enough to handle you can pot them on to small pots etc.
