It does look like a fig, but if it is, it shouldn't have any leaves on this time of year.

It could be Fig but I do not know many American plants. Wild figs are are deciduous in cooler climates but evergreen in mild areas.

Ooooh, interesting. I am in Los Angeles area and it has been in the high 70s! Hasn't dipped below 60 degrees in a month.
How did it get there?! Has anyone found a volunteer fig like this?
What should I do with it??

Try breaking a leaf or stem - if white, milky sap oozes out, its a fig. If that doesn't happen, it's not a fig...

Sorry, I was assuming you lived in a temperate climate. As Botanic said, they are naturally evergreen.
Regarding how it got there? More than likely it was carried by a bird that ate the fruit. Either dropped from its beak, or been eaten, digested and dropped in its poo. Nature has a wonderful way of propagating seeds and making sure they are spread far and wide.
