Hello fellow gardeners,
I'm interested to find out what other self employed gardeners do in the winter months.
I have been self employed for about a year and found the winter extreemly difficult financially.
I would be interested in ideas for working and other opportunities.
Look forward to hearing from you all.
Debbie :-)

What kind of work do you do Debbie. Do you have regular contracts or do you mostly have one offs?. There is endless work to do in the winter months. I will send you a PM with ideas.

I have a friend who is a landscaper/gardener. During the winter months he does outdoor Holiday decor- Christmas lights, placement of large holiday wreaths, etc; facilitates recycling of Christmas trees; also does snow removal for residences and business. I wish you the best of luck and as much business as you desire!

Hello all,
Thanks for your replies, there are some interesting solutions that I never would have thought of myself. Someone suggested going to Thailand for the winter months. Does anyone know about any opportunities.... for gardeners abroad???
The kind of work I do at the moment is general maintainence; planting, weeding, pruning... but I am also a designer but don't know as yet how to use my design in gardening, it feels a bit of a mystery to me :-)
