i put grass seed down three weeks ago nothing happened as yet,any advice on how to encourage growth please.

Can take up to four weeks to germinate, depending on temperatures, assuming you've kept it moist. You can speed it up a bit by covering with clear plastic or polythene, but you must check every day for signs of germination - as soon as any signs of life appear, you must remove the plastic.
