Planter help - on a tight budget.
What type of things other than bottles, trays and yoghurt pots do you recycle from home for your garden ?

Newspapers in the wormery (or your bank statements!!), and those plastic little containers that fruit come in e.g plums - they work like mini greenhouses!

I'm using some old drawers that my neighbour gave me. I've drilled holes in the bottom and filled them with compost. I've sown lettuce in one and peas in the other. I look on Freegle or Freecycle for things that would make do as planters as people are literally giving things away to keep them out of landfill sites. I've also built raised beds for my veg from a broken bunk bed that I got from Freegle.Literally old bins and buckets would do as long as you put holes in them for drainage. Happy recycling and reusing.

old tights for soft ties for round trees.
wool jumpers for lining hanging baskets were suggested on a gardening programme 5 yrs or so ago.
polystyrene boxes painted gray/stome finishe for light weight troughs for alpines. again seen this done very successfully at the local gardening group.
