i have a a border that is constantly wet. it is immediately on the south side of my decking. i have tried drainage but it stays wet. would doing a raised bed help. i have clematis planted in the bordr and they do not do very well. help!

Hi Arch and welcome to GoY another Scot! Clematis do not like sitting with their feet in the wet. As Bamboo says you really need to investigate why that area is permanently wet

ty for that, I think the reason it's wet is I live in the north of scotland! Do you think I should move the clematis then?

Yes, move the Clematis, they won't like sitting in water. If that area's wet all year, I'm not convinced living in Scotland is the cause, or there would be times when it would dry out - even Scotland gets no rain and good weather occasionally.

Um we live on the Moray coast 25 miles east of Inverness none of our garden is constantly wet. You might want to check if there is a spring or such there or an underground stream.
