A lovely sunny dry day, so have just spent ages planting 60 Gladioli bulbs (Sunset Mixed) using grit and bone meal. But a "friend" told me they won't survive as its too early. Is this true ?

Gladiolus can take light frost, in my experience.

If they are buried deep enough they will be ok. I have some that are left in the garden all year. they are 6" down and have been in for 10yrs now. so fingers crossed there wont be a severe frost. the grit will help them stay less wet.
