I have just brought a foxglove tree and am a little worried that the packaging said levender blue. Can you tell me does this apply to the colour of the flowers or to the scent as I am allergic to lavender and won't be able to plant it if it does smell of lavender.

the description "lavender blue" applies only to the colour of the flowers - this plant is entirely unrelated to Lavender, so don't worry, Tothtugga (are you a dentist?)

I'm a dental nurse, missed an O out of name and can't work out how to change it.

Ha ha, I'm dead chuffed I worked it out, or pretty close anyway, tothtugga - you won't be able to change it now, once you've got a name, you're stuck with it, I'm afraid.

Just to say Paulownia (the foxglove tree) grows very rapidly to make a very big tree and forms the flower buds before the winter. It is only after a reasonably mild winter that the flowerbuds will survive and open as the very nice foxglove like flowers.
If you find it too large a tree, you can always cut it right down each year to the base and it will then grow as a shrub with extremely large tropical looking leaves.

Hi Tothtugga, I think you can alter your name by going into "update your profile" and then changing your name in the buddy/icon/avatar slot.
Ooops, I just tried this and not sure if I'm right, sorry!

You can't, Dylandog - I know, I've tried, having used part of my email address by mistake as my profile name...

Usually the colour.
Is it a foxglove or a tree Paulowinia? If its a tree it will take years to grow to maturity before it flowers with fox glove like flowers on it.
