I was given 2 strawberry plants today in pots, their about 3 - 4 inches high.
i,ve never grew them before, what should I do with them?
can I just leave them in the pots outside or should they go in my mini greenhouse?
anything else they need?

Hi Usernut have the plants been outside up until now? If so no they don't need to go in your mini greenhouse. If you have space plant them in the ground so that the runners can root. The parent plant will only do well for approx 4 years when you can dig it up and get rid of. The runners will be happily growing away by then and you just keep letting the cycle take place. If you have to have in a planter detach the runners and pot on so that they will grow into new plants. Marshall if you are cutting off the runners sooner or later you will find yourself without any fruiting strawberry plants and will have to buy fresh.

Thanks, i,ll find a spot and plant in the ground and if I get any runners then i,ll plant some in those hanging containers next year.
I thought they only lasted for one year so lasting for about four is great.
