Last year my green pepper leaves were covered in tiny holes and the area in which they were growing (a warm study) was filled with tiny flying insects. I take it the two are related? How do I stop tis happening thisyear? I heard you should spray with diluted washing up liquid, but will that not afect the taste of the peppers?

you may not get a problem this year. but if you do the soap spray wont affect the peppers. {unless the peppers are sprayed that is. then wash them before eating] the soap wont be absorbed by the leaf so no worry there.
