There are going to be a few frosty nights this week (tonight and tomorrow will get below zero in many parts of England, especially if you are in the countryside). This cold weather is a real blow, but something warmer is on its way after the 20th. Poor old plants, mine loved the warmth of April and just seem to be standing still now :(

I'd persevere I think. Only sowed mine a week ago...

Me too. First time with runner beans, sowed them on the kitchen windowsill - dont they grow quickly?!!!

Yes they do! Mine are in the ground outside tho so will be slower....no sign of them yet, but just noticed my peas and some late braod beans are coming up :-)

As long as the growing point is undamaged, they will survive. The question is whether they will be as vigorous as new ones germinated now as it gets warmer (we hope). They are so quick from seed in May that I'd plant some more in modules ready to plant out at the beginning of June.
