Couple of questions first, Redted - is it a standard Bay or a bush? How big is the pot you've now got it in, and was it potbound before you potted it this time into a new pot?

hallo bamboo it is a standard and the pot is 11 inches I did not put it in new pot it has always been in the same pot this is the first time that this has happened.

hang on a mo - you say in your original question that you repotted it, but in your response, you say its still in the same pot it came in? If you've not actually repotted, I'm sure it needs a bigger pot, or else planting in the ground. The root restriction after 6 years must be pretty bad, and won't contribute to the plant's overall health. Repot in a bigger pot, making sure you tease out the coiled around roots which you will probably find, use John Innes No. 2 compost for preference, trim over the growth if you need to reshape it, and if you can post a photo, that would help me decide whether it's actually got something that needs treating, or whether its just poorly from growing in poor conditions.
