Following the cold winter I've 2 x Choisya Ternata shrubs are looking very sad(dead). How long would you recommend leaving them to see if they'll put up some new growth. They're both about 6ftx6ft and have been everpresent for a long time

never mind - look on it as an exciting opportunity to plant something different!

Next question
Well if they're not showing any growth anywhere, I'd think they were dead - for a start they're evergreen, and certainly most are flowering now, so I'd get them out.
