I have about 30 Aubrieta to plant and wondered if they do well anywhere in the garden. I wanted to put some around a small tree I have - is that good? Also what about their use in tubs and baskets? Any advice would be welcome.

On plant Aubrieta

They like a sunny position, so you could only put them under a deciduous tree, and even then, they won't appreciate the shade when the leaves grow.

They look best cascading over a wall or raised bed, or in mounds along the front of a border or path. If your containers are permanently planted, not with annuals, I should think they'd do all right in them, too. Not baskets, though.

You need to clip them over once they've flowered to keep them from going 'leggy'.
