Hi there it's a Betulia which is a type of Begonia it's a plant that lasts just 5 months May-Sept green stalks beautiful red flowers.My neighbour has said the only option is to cut it right back!!! Thank you for responding.

Your neighbour's right - and I'd add this should never have been put outside before the end of May, as with all summer bedding plants.
