Bit of a shot in the dark this one... At Belsay hall in Northumberland, opposite the fern grotto before the Gunneras there is a large swathe of a plant that looks like a giant Brunnera. Anyone know what this is? Unfortunately dont have a pic

did it have variegated leaves? And are you suggesting it had blue flowers? Or no flowers?

it had large heart shaped leaves,one colour green, about 30 - 40 cm, with small blue flowers on spikes. They have it in a shady area

Not ringing any bells, I'm afraid, just sounds like a Brunnera with large leaves!
