Help needed with school topic!
I am hoping to make hanging baskets from old plastic bottles with my class to sell at a school fete. I was told that if you put a geranium into the bottle, flower growing towards the ground, it will grow upwards around the bottle? Is this true? Any other advice?

All plants will try to grow upwards, so in thery, yes this would work. How are you going to stop the soil and water falling out? I saw an advert for upside down containers but there seems to be no advantage other than novelty value. Good luck!

With geraniums in plastic bottles my concern would be air flow/damp and how to avoid mildew?
