Can anyone tell me whether a Syringa "Miss Pixie" will do well in a spot in clay soil, full sun in morning but in shade from a fence for the rest of the day? Many thanks.

Thank you Tina, just the response I was hoping for! I'll go ahead and plant it then.

Forgot to say Jan,please make sure you keep it well watered until established as the hot sun will soon dry out the roots. It is amazing how hot the sun gets first thing in the morning as we always think of the mid day and afternoon sun as being the hottest.I have to close my dining room curtains so as to stop the power of the sun affecting my wooden chairs that are in there...

I have this exact same Syringa,Miss Pixie in the same sort of conditions as you have and mine at the moment is thriving very well{now into it's fourth year}and is just starting to bloom now.Mine as well as being in shade from a fence,it is also under a large weeping cherry tree and seems to be doing ok.
Good luck and hope you have the same sucess if you plant one...
