Can you tell me what this plant is please? It appears every year in many areas of the garden, especially in shady places.

i also leave the odd one as i like the berries in the autumn. a nice food for the birds too.

It's Wild Arum, Lords and Ladies, Cuckoo Pint. I regard it as a weed and the berries in the autumn are poisonous.
