Should I cut chives that have started to flower?
Hi, I have a large pot of chives that have started to flower. What is the best thing to do if I want to continue harvesting them to eat? Should I cut the ones with flowers or leave them and harvest around them?
Many thanks

Thanks, SBG. I will try them this evening :o) I've eaten nasturtium flowers before but never chives. I think I'll leave some to to seed too.

use borage flowers too, you can pop them in rice salads too. or pimms if you are really 'posh'.

I took a pinch of petals from one of the flowers this evening - the big one on the right :o)
They had quite a strong taste, with hints of almond. They seemed to leave a sweeter taste than normal too - very nice and destined for the salad bowl over the weekend.
