hi my name is kathleen i think i have the new zealand cabbage palm. what it is i would like to ask is with a bad winter i had to take all the leaves off the tree the trunk of the tree at the top was all sod out the leaves were just peeling back so am wondering if my plant has died or will it grow back it would be great if you could help me thanks hope to hear from someone

If you're trying to say the trunk was all soggy at the top, where the leaves were, you can try cutting the trunk down by half to see if that forces growth either from the base or up the remaining trunk. Otherwise, dig it out and replace. Your plant sounds like a Cordyline (Australian cabbage palm)
