My rhus typina has a 4ft sucker plant next door, all leaves and beautiful but my tree still has no leaves but have young shoots. has the sucker plant causing my tree to be delayed in springing its leaves, worry might die.love this tree!

Rhus always produces lots of suckers, and sometimes ,the original tree dies back and the suckered ones take over. However, if your tree has young shoots, then it should be fine, assuming you mean those shoots are in the crown of your tree and not just more suckers at the base.
