i was given a wisteria 5 yrs ago it was about 5ft tall then,but it has'nt grown in height and its never flowered i get loads of healthy leaves though any body got any ideas on what i'm doing wrong

You may not be doing anything wrong at all when you say given it was it a cutting or grown from seed perhaps ? Can you see a root stock like on a rose on the main stem ?
If grown from cutting or seed you can wait years for a flower if at all ..
