Can anyone remember seeing a small log boat in a museum ? I know about the Poole Harbour log boat (Poole museum) the Dover log boat (Dover museum) the Shardlow log boat (Derby museum) and the 8 log boats found near Peterborough. They were all carved with Adzes from 35 feet high trees. A momentous achievement, considering the tools available at the time.
Just wondered if there were any smaller log boats that were used on rivers, and became preserved in the mud
to be found in our times.
I would be grateful for any information.

one of the oldest is in Hull about 2000bc. The Ferriby boat[s] there were 2 more I think. Not sure when it was found 20/30's I think. It was on display for years in an old disused swimming baths as they had to continually spray it with preservative. I think it is now on display in hull's transport museum.
Google Ferriby boats
fantastic feat of engineering.
