evergreen boarder hedging

I need a quick growing evergreen tree/shrub for hedging/boarder and must be low pollen (at least non wind)? I have about 3 acres so needs to be fairly common, is Laurel the way to go? I already have a thin young hawthorn perimeter and want to plant a boarder in front to create more of windbreak/screen

Euyonamus [know thats spelt wrong], privet and the smaller leafed lonicera types. are all good hedging plants.
beech whilst not evergreen maintain the dead leaves most of the winter too.

Laurel does make a good windbreak but does need pruned into shape. I like Eucalyptus as it provides such a captivating aroma. It is cheap as anything from seed and easily a metre tall in one year if you but and germinate now.
