In a couple of weeks time you take non flowering green shoots of about 6 to 9 inches long, cut just below a leaf joint. Take a dozen and roll them up in a piece of clear plastic tape, round the middle, leaving the tops and the bottoms clear. Push the whole lot into a pot a sandy potting compost. Water them in, cover with a plastic bag and put somewhere out of direct sunlight. They root very easily.
Or you could just push half a dozen into compost round the edge of a pot. We used to root them by the 1,000 in the first method.
