Dry dahlia tubers hanging off in fragile way. They are attached only loosely at their necks by very brittle, delicate threads. I have seen dahlia tubers like this before. Some of the lozenge-shaped tubers have in fact broken off. Does this matter at all? Can they also be planted? Is all still well with them? These are dwarf/patio dahlias, max height 30cm. I am giving them a good soak before planting.

I think if you're not happy give them a ring, see what advice they give you, it seems a bit late to start them off, I dont grow many but theyre about 8" high now, there again you'd probably get late blooms well up to the frosts which is always a bonus

It is no good phoning JParkers for cultivation advice. The person who answers the phone is always just a sales operator only, not someone who knows about plants and gardening. It is not like buying from and then phoning a nursery. I do so love dwarf dahlias. One can but try.

They do look a bit sorry,Jonathan, its not right sending plants in that condition.
Next year, try Wilkinson's,a few of us do on here, with good results...and cheap.
Iwould post this picture if possible, and ask for your money back...good luck.

This is so typical of JParkers unfortunately. Every time there is a problem.

I'm not sure , but i'd give it a go, I really only know that if they're soft and spongy they've had it !
