this month is not a great start as wildlife (eg frog eggs) have setteled in and flowers around the pond in strong growth but you still can get rid of the pond
step1:first get rid of all wildlife in the pond and put them all into buckets(then put them in public park ponds or ask nieghbours or freinds if they want extra animals in their pond but only if they have one themself)
step2:get rid of all the plants around the pond or in the pond put the water ones in buckets(again ask friends or nighbours if they want the plants)
step3:drain the pond's water:because summer is comming up and depending on the pond's depth you can just leave it to dry out or use buckets to throw the water out
step 4:you didnt tell me about the lining you used but if you used concret or clay puddling then you will have to ask a profesional builder to take it off for you,if you used rubber lining(the fliexeble one) then just remove the layer of soil and silt on it and pull it off.
step5:fill it with compost or soil and plant some grass seed on the top or even better...some flowers!
happy to help :)

You could buy or borrow a small electric pump to drain it. If it's quite a large pond you can hire a petrol driven industrial pump for a day to do the job.

We siphoned ours using an old vacuum cleaner hose but this will only work if the outlet end of the hose can be lower than the sucking up end. (We were lucky in that the pond was near to a drain inspection cover...)
